
How the Great Ones Do It (1): The Triumph of Geographical-Resource Pragmatism and Sovereignty over Ideological Uniformity
This is the first in a series of articles under the title „How the Great Ones Do It,“ in which I will attempt—through the analysis of various regulatory and techno-economic approaches to the planning and execution of the national production mix, as well as approaches to power system engineering in general—to highlight their advantages and disadvantages, and to point out the direction toward which the European, and concurrently the Serbian, power system should strive. By taking the single best element from each of these two examples—the US and the EU—we have ultimately arrived at the best possible answer for Europe, and for every individual nation on the continent, on how and where to go next in the future.
